Don Smith Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Don Smith of Morgantown, Kentucky, born in Macon, Tennessee, who passed away on September 4, 2021, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Smith and Pauline Smith; and his mother-in-law Margaret Southerland. He is survived by: his grandson Zach; his wife Joan Southerland Smith; his daughters, Casey Buckley (Stephen) of Lebanon and Haley Smith Gwathney of Morgantown; his grandchildren, Zachary Wayne Gwathney, Shelby LeAnn Gwathney and Cameron Harrison Buckley; his siblings, Byron Smith (Patti) of Camby, Indiana, Janet Knight (Jeff) of Westport, Indiana and Kimberly Short (Dave) of Franklin, Indiana; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Southerland (Anita) of Morgantown, Terry Southerland of Beechcreek, Roger Southerland (Betty) of Morgantown and Donna Morris (Rick) of Lexington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
