With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Dean Shewmaker (Nicholasville, Kentucky), who passed away on February 28, 2019 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Barbara Evans, J. D., Marion, Bobby Gene, Treffert and Paul.

He is survived by: his spouse Virginia Lorene Guffey Shewmaker; his daughter Kathy Sams (Bobby); his granddaughters, Emily (Steven), Heggie and Kayla Sams; and his siblings, Sally Shewmaker Laney, Tommy, Kenneth (Bonnie) and Jerry Shewmaker (Dayna). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Hospice Care Navigators or Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
