With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jewell Blanton of Oil Springs, Kentucky, who passed away on November 24, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Jackson and Mae Carpenter Jackson; her husband Melvin Blanton; her stepmother Virgie Blanton Jackson; her daughters, Charlene Blanton and Penelope Kay Jackson; and her sister Geneva Jackson.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Blanton (Sandy) of Canal Winchester, OH, Michael Blanton (Sandy) of Oil Springs, KY, David Blanton of Richmond, KY, Connie May (Roger) of Springfield, OH, Jackie Puckett (Phillip) of Salyersville, KY and Tena (late Russell). She is also survived by Niece, along with nineteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
