He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Keown and Lucy Butler Keown; and his siblings, George "Hoppy" Keown, Robert "Bob" Keown and Hazel Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda Keown; his children, Terri Wheatley, David Keown (Lee), Peggy McGee, Renée Terry, Charles Keown (Elizabeth), Michael Keown (Junali) and Connie Short (DeWayne); and his grandchildren, Charles Wesley Keown, Jessica Terry, Charles Mitchell Keown, Nicholas Keown, Jacob Keown, Anthony Keown, Rachel Keown and Julan Keown.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory (900 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
