He was predeceased by : his father John Irving; his daughter Jahna Marie Pierce; and his sister Rebecca Worman. He is survived by : his wife Teresa Hoffert Pierce; his son Dr. John E. Pierce, Jr. (Ashley) of Paducah; his siblings, Gail Petronella Day of St. Petersburg, Katy Maggio of Utica, Jean Murphy of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Michael Pierce of Arkansas, Richard Pierce (Christine) of Frankfort and Randy Pierce (Dawn) of Hicksville; and his grandchildren, John "Tripp" Pierce, III of Paducah, Hadlee Pierce of Paducah, Grady Pierce of Paducah and Keelyn Pierce of Paducah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
