He was predeceased by : his parents, Author Sullivan and Hattie Sullivan (Prater); his wife Betty "Sue" Sullivan (Hayes); his grandson Gregory Bruce Dotson; his sister Bessie Adkins; and his friend P. D. Johnson.

He is survived by : his children, Sue Ellen Dotson (Bruce) of Phelps, KY, Jennifer Scott (Tommy) of Jeffersonville, KY, Barry Kent Sullivan (Loreen) of Phelps, KY and Danny Jay Sullivan (Christy) of Phelps, KY; his grandchildren, Larry Joe Dotson (Loressia), Faith Carnell Wolford, Mitchell Frye (Amanda), Brent Sullivan (Amanda), Loressia Dotson (Larry Joe), Caleb Sullivan (Karlie) and Jada Burlynn Scott; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Madden (Joseph), Dalton Wolford, Lauren Hurley (Zack), Keaton Dotson, Alyssa Wolford, Barry Braeden Sullivan, Brenna Sue Sullivan, Kylie Frye, Aubrie Frye and Jonah Sullivan; his great great grandchildren, Taidyn Wolford, Tabi Madden, Levi Jameson Hurley and Gracie Madden; his siblings, Ernest Denver Sullivan (Ida Jean) of Freeburn, KY, Danny Ray Sullivan of North Carolina, Pearl Sullivan of Mount Sterling, KY and Carolyn Daugherty (Robert) of Freeburn, KY.; his close friend Lonnie Jr. Daugherty (Betty Lou); and his cousin James Daugherty. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
