He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Napier and Odis Gayheart; his wife Wilma Gayheart; and his siblings, Mike Jones, Casey Jones, Irvin Jones, Luther Jones, Stephanie Fortney, Midge Rigsby and Lavonne Jones.
He is survived by: his daughters, Josanne Johnson (Brian) of Bloomington, Melissa Gayheart (Brett Cavins) of Versailles and Rebecca Gayheart of Lexington, Kentucky.; his grandchildren, Brian Alexander Johnson (Stephanie) of Bloomington, Bethany Johnson of Hyattsville, Andrew Johnson (Jayne Tyler) of Bloomington, Tanner James Cavins of Lexington and Tori Elizabeth Cavins of Versailles, Kentucky.; and his siblings, Taylor Jones, Myrtle Miller, Brenda Stacy, Gladys Bush and Louella Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hindman Funeral Services (619 Hindman Bypass, Hindman, KY 41822). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
