He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Payton, Sr. and Rose Mildred Payton (Preston); his wife Theresa Gayle Payton; and his siblings, Elizabeth Payton and Calvin Payton.
He is survived by: his children, Tawnja Morris of Pleasureville, Beth Newton of Sulphur, Alexandria Payton of Louisville and Jessie Payton of LaGrange; his grandchildren, Christopher, Kylee Morris, Zackery and Zayden Newton; and his siblings, Emma Jean Herrell of Frankfort and Josh Payton of Frankfort.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Beckley Funeral Home (5710 Castle Hwy, Pleasureville, KY 40057). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
