She is survived by : her parents, Clayton Gardner and Pauline Crum Gardner of Salyersville; her stepsons, Malcom Dwayne Slone of Prestonsburg, Chad Slone (Michelle) of Paitnsville and Jason Slone (Courtney) of Prestonsburg; her sister Angela Burchett (James) of Salyersville; her nephew Landen Brickey of Salyersville; and her niece Delana Lorae Brickey of Morehead.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to the Vanessa Gardner Slone Memorial Fund at the John M. Stumbo Elementary School for school activities and the children.
