He is survived by: his wife Gerlinde McCarty; his children, Kevin McCarty (Gaye), Frances Whitten of Whitney, TX, Patrick McCarty and Lexi Cundiff (Michael) of Vine Grove, KY.; and also Radcliff. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
