He was predeceased by: his son Allen Grant Borntraeger. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Jo; his son Christopher James Borntraeger (Kate) of Lexington; his granddaughter Kamryn Taylor Borntraeger; and his sister Denise Borntraeger Dean (Bob). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers donations suggested to Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice at 1733 Harrodsburg Road Lexington, KY 40504.
