He was predeceased by: his parents, Raleigh Cash and Stanlie Hackworth Childers; his daughter Shirley Ann Rose; and his siblings, Billy Childers, Edna Witt, Rita Jones, Dorsie Kaylor, Zelda Maggard and Eva Masters.
He is survived by: his spouse Jessie Eversole Childers; his daughter Debra Barclay (Jerry) of Richmond; his son-in-law Mike Rose; and his sister-in-law Ora Mae Childers. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
