He is survived by: his children, Shaun Abney of Richmond, KY, Amanda Collins of Richmond, KY, Makenna of Richmond, KY, MaKenzie Abney of Richmond, KY and Calisa Pearson (Doug) of Richmond, KY.; his stepdaughter Candice Kelly Maynard (Dustin) of Paint Lick, KY.; his siblings, Roy Lee Abney of Berea, Vernon Abney (Martha) of North Carolina, Lewis Abney of Louisville, KY, Doug Abney of Berea, KY, Mitchell Abney of Georgia, Mary Combs of Georgia, Allie Wood of Rockcastle County, KY and Kay Abney of Jackson County, KY.; and his grandchildren, Macy Foley, Molly Abney, MaKayla Landsaw, Morgan Grant, Madison Grant, Dylan Maynard, Dalton Maynard, Alexandra Maynard, Kelly Maynard, Melissa Slone, Katelyn Barrett and Joey Murphy.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home (616 Chestnut St, Berea, KY 40403). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
