He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin E. Perkins and Minnie Kanatzar Perkins; his daughter Jane Thacker; his grandchild Lee Taylor; and his siblings, Paul Elwood Perkins, William Ray Perkins, Maxine Perkins and Drucilla Perkins.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Spurlin Perkins; his children, Thomas R. Perkins (Coy) of Richmond, Marva Taylor of Richmond and Lora Snider (Ron) of Richmond; his grandchildren, Barbara MacFee, Conrad Perkins, Jeremy Taylor, Jason Thacker, Ben Thacker, Blake Thacker, Allie Rigsby and Jessie Hicks; and his sisters, Loretta Curry and Wanda Wells (Darrell). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
