He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cox and Emma Garrett Cox. He is survived by: his wife Frances Durham Cox; his children, Edward M. Cox (Carrie) of Richmond and Vickie Gail Rutledge (Don) of Albemarle, NC; his grandchildren, Heather Lee Martin (Tommy), John Paul Rutledge (Molly) and Michael Cox (Sydney); his great grandchildren, Kinsey, Brody, Jack and Asher; and his brother James Cox.
Due to governmental Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Riggs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1500 College Way, Lexington, KY 40502.
