She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Murphy and Eleanor Ford Murphy; her husband Hubert Gibbs; her close friend Keith Garrison Snebley; her sister Fay; and her brothers-in-law, Mel Smallwood and Larry Hisle.

She is survived by: her son Stephen Gibbs (Dorthy); her stepdaughter Sue Byrd (Tony); her grandchildren, Jessica Gibbs Carter (Jason) and Jaxson Kemper; her great grandchildren, Jayden and Kayden Fultz; and her siblings, Eva Hisle and Gary Murphy (Sheila).
