He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Gibbs and Sandra Murphy Gibbs (Keith Schnebly); his nephew Brian Byrd; his aunt Fay; his uncle Mel Smallwood; his brother Jerry Gibbs; his grandparents, Oscar, Eleanor Murphy and Onalee Truett; and also, Ellis and Nina Land.
He is survived by: his wife Dorthy Gibbs; his children, Jessica Gibbs Carter (Jason) and Jaxson Kemper; his grandchildren, Jayden and Kayden Fultz; his sister Sue Gibbs Byrd (Tony); his niece Melissa Byrd Griffith (Josh); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Marriah Eaton (Mariah), Tanner Eaton (Stacy), Trenton Byrd and Carson Stanifer; and his cousins, Suann Smallwood Koralia (David), David Neil Smallwood (Crystal) and Anna Coleman (David).
