He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kerry and Gracie Williamson Phillips; and his siblings, William Paul "Buster" Phillips, Albert Sidney Phillips, Franklin Phillips, Ruey Phillips, Mae Thacker, June Meade, Billie Justice, Hilda Phillips, Beulah Phillips and Margaret Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Joanne McCormick (Brian) of Ashland, Cathy Phillips of Rush and Ryan Phillips of Nashville; and his siblings, Edgar Phillips of Catlettsburg and Mildred Justice of Hardy.
