She was predeceased by: her parents, George Ellis and Ina Popplewell Perkins; her husband Norris B. Hughes; her sons, Alan Dale Hughes and Timmy L. Hughes; and her siblings, Cosby Perkins, R. V. Perkins, Kenzel Perkins, Clifford Perkins, Junior Perkins, Betty Perkins, Wanda Perkins and Brenda Henderson.
She is survived by: her children, Phillip Hughes of Las Vegas, Greg Hughes (Tonya) of Russell Springs and Cathy Carter (Danny) of Franklin, Indiana; her daughter-in-law Sheree Hughes of New Palestine, Indiana; her siblings, Roger Perkins (Freda) of Russell Springs, Norma Ramlow of Russell Springs and Janice Decker (Ronnie) of Somerset; and her grandchildren, Shawn Griggs (Craig), Chad Carter (Amanda), Ryan Carter (Rachel), Amanda Hughes, Jared Hughes, Eric Mason (Danielle), Chelsea Williams (Ian) and Keith Hughes (Gabrielle).
Hattie was a caring person that donated to many different organizations and was always looking for ways to help people.
