He was predeceased by : his father Bryce Bud; and his siblings, Earnest James Minix, Rosetta Minix Combs and Mary Francis Slone. He is survived by : his wife Wonnie Webb Minx; his children, Derrick Thomas Minix of Salyersville, Justin Franklin Minix of Salyersville and Kimberly Lynn Caudill (Matthew) of Salyersville; his brothers, Kenneth Wayne Minix and Jackie Layne Minix; and his grandchildren, Isabella "Bella" Minix, Nathaniel James Caudill, Lucas Elijah Caudill and Jude Alexander Caudill.
