He is survived by: his parents, Sellus Hurt and Lottie Stone Hurt; his wife Jeanne; his daughters, Jana Harston (Phil) and Julie Hurt; his grandson Drew Harston (Carol); and his sister Libby Flowers of Glasgow. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
