He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Herman Merriam and Helen Ann Kreutz Merriam; his son Johann Merriam; his sisters, Priscilla Merriam and Elaine Merriam; his former wife Billie Joan Wise Blair; and his stepson Samuel Trulock.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Merriam II of Shepherdsville, KY, Edward Merriam (Priscilla) of Shepherdsville, KY and Helen Fann (Jerry) of Scottsville, KY; his daughters-in-law, Cheryl Trulock of Liberty, KY, Julia Merriam of Scottsville, KY and Denise Clemens of Shepherdsville, KY; his grandchildren, Josh Ottersbach, Amanda Ottersbach, Amy Ottersbach, James Clemens, John Paul Merriam and Jessica Merriam; and his stepgrandchildren, Tracy Rhein (Allen), Samuel Trulock, Chris Trulock (Sabrina), Tiffany Henderson (Josh), Heather Clemens, Robert Fann, Laura Martin (Zach) and Desiree Fann. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, 21 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Goad Funeral Home (215 W Main St, Scottsville, KY 42164). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at the Guardian Angel Trulock Cemetery.
