He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Messer and Nannie Holland Messer; his wife Angeline Trent; and his siblings, Bert Messer, Carew Messer, Ernest Jean Messer, Sally Jane Walta, Dora Minton and Della Mae Rader.
He is survived by: his sons, Glenn Messer (Omia), James Messer of Scuddy, Shane Messer of Scuddy and Andrew Amburgey of Vicco; his siblings, Willie Messer of Scuddy, John Messer of Knott Co, Benton Messer of Shelbyville, KY, Rachel Cornett of Knott Co and Callie Collins of Knott Co; and his grandchildren, Brandon, Dalton, Dylan, Braxton, Courtney, Brandy, Donavin, Andy, Johnathan, Whitney, Will, Skyler, Braylon, Gregory, Jayden, Maddie, Ayden and Hunter.
The Visitation will be at the Smithsboro Baptist Church on Tuesday evening after 6:00 P. M. IN ACCORDANCE TO STATE MANDATES, MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AND SOCIAL DISTANCING PRACTICED!
