He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Jane; his stepfather Perry Mobley; his father George Carl Portman; and his siblings, William Carl Portman and Joyce Portman Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Susan "Vonnie" Flood Portman; and his sister Janie (Theresa). He is also survived by his many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY 40165). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke Church (4211 Jim Hawkins Dr, Louisville, KY 40229).
