He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dillard Claude Lay and Donnie Kaye Britt; his grandparents, Merl and Ernie Britt; his son Steven Allen Lay; his siblings, Jenny Lay Haley, Wade Lay (Jonathan Lay) and Eric Schroader (Barbara Jones); and his aunts, Faye Thompson, MaryAnn Ayers and Betty Smith. He was also cherished by one niece, one nephew and several cousins.
