It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruel Augustus Allen Jr. of Summersville, Kentucky, who passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Ruel A. Allen, Sr. and Theresa Druin Allen; and his brothers, Harold Allen and Charles Allen. He is survived by : his wife Rita S. Lobb Allen; his daughter Teresa; his son-in-law Dan Collison; his son Charlie; his daughter-in-law Kim Allen; his daughter Tiffany of Summersville; his son-in-law Mike Shoopman of Summersville; his grandchildren, Danielle McCubbin (Ben), Drew Collison (Aly), BayLee Allen (Jake), Carter Allen, Mikaela Shoopman, Isaiah Shoopman, Raegan Shoopman and Israel Shoopman; his great grandchildren, Grayson, Griffin and Gavin McCubbin; his sister Margaret; his brother-in-law Asa Whitlock; his brother Larry; his sisters-in-law, Sharon Allen and Carla Allen; and his close friend Larry Eads. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or Hosparus of Green River, which can be made at the funeral home.
