He is survived by: his children, Mary Hammer of Tompkinsville and William Hammer of Tompkinsville; his siblings, Linda Jones (Ralph) of Tompkinsville, Jackie Bray (Linda) of Gamaliel and Robert Hammer of Champagne, IL; his grandchildren, James Dalton Odell, Angela Hammer, Bridget Young and William Charles Hammer (Little Will); his great grandchildren, Bryleigh Danielle Elizabeth Hammer and James Dwight Odell Hammer; his stepparents, Farris Bray and Maye Hammer; and his sister Nancy Propes.
