She was predeceased by : her parents, Andrew "Jack" Howard and Audrey Ruth Tyree; her husband Clarence Reed McWherter; and her sister Ann Smith (Burk Smith). She is survived by : her siblings, Tommy Howard of Tompkinsville, R. J and Charlotte Haley of Glasgow. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
