He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan and Sally; and his brothers, Hughes, Roscoe and Charles Gilbert.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Gilbert (Gary Young), Sherri Thomas (David) and Gail Lanham (Steve); his sisters, Cathleen Brock, Betty Sizemore (Robert), Paula Senften (Steve) and Lois Wilder; and his grandchildren, Logan (Dominique Thomas), Kaitlyn Gilbert and Makenna Lanham.
