He was predeceased by: his spouse Alga Parker Gibson; his parents, Marcin Gibson and Crettie Collins Gibson; his daughter Delores Duckett; and his siblings, Troy, Basil, Richard Gibson, Edith Rice, Helen Petry and Beatrice Brunk.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Gibson, Jr., Diane Steveson of Erlanger, KY, Darlene Gibson, Deborah Allen (David) and Dorian Moe (Thomas). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
