She was predeceased by : her parents, Lindsey Merrick and Jessie Merrick; her former life partner William A. Boyd; her husband Carlos Elkins; her daughter Shelia Leidecker; and her stepson Carlos Elkins, Jr..
She is survived by : her son Darrell Boyd (Cindy) of Paducah; her stepson Roy Elkins of Possum Trot; her brother Herbie Merrick of Princeton; and her grandchildren, Jason Lawrence (Holly) of Arlington, Ashley Gentry (Jared) of Paducah, Justin Boyd (Carolyn) of Bowling Green and Meredith Martin (Jason) of Paducah. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
