The memory of Emma Amburgey (Whitesburg, Kentucky), who passed away on December 6, 2025 at the age of 89, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Adams and Christina Adams; her husband Owen Amburgey; her siblings, Sara Lou Adams, Carolyn Gilley (Dot) and Phillip Adams; her siblings-in-law, Jeanie Adams, Claudetta Adams, Clarence Whitaker and Charles Gilley; and her close friend Phyllis Caudill.
She is survived by: her daughter Kim Combs (Michael); and her brothers, Hal Adams and David Adams (Retta). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Letcher Funeral Home (102 Main St, Whitesburg, KY 41858). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Whitesburg First Baptist Church or Bluegrass Care Navigators (hospice).
