He is survived by: his children, Dr. Adam Clark Akers (Nicki) of Pikeville and Tasha Lanea Harris (Shayne) of Winchester; his grandchildren, Whitney Branham (Braxton) of Virgie, Brianna Akers of Pikeville, Hannah Grace Akers of Pikeville, Alexis Akers of Pikeville and Deklan Harris of Winchester; his great grandchildren, Canaan Jace Branham and Oakley Mae Iricks; and his siblings, Gene Wellman Tackett (Cheryl) of Beefhide, Terry Lee Tackett (Teresa) of Lexington, Robert Joseph Osborne (Leisa) of Richmond and Carlene Haley of Winchester, Kentucky..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church (170 Town Mountain Rd, Pikeville, KY 41501). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Johnson Memorial Park South Mayo (163 Johnson Cemetery Rd, Pikeville, KY 41501).
