It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laura Marshall of Abita Springs, Louisiana, who passed away on June 4, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Laura Marshall to show support.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard H., Sr. and F. Cornelia Marshall of Corpus Christi, TX.; the fathers of children, Joseph Robert Newberry and Buford Virgil Dyess; her siblings, L. H. Marshall, Jr., E. W. Marshall, Nadine Payne and Carrie Jo Gibson of Texas; and her grandson Scott R. Holloway of Florida.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Newberry Laws (Joseph R. Laws) of Mandeville, LA and Robert C. Newberry, Sr. of Folsom, LA.; and her grandchildren, Robert C. Newberry, Jr. of Abita Springs, LA and Serena M. Moore of Metairie, LA. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Because it was the wishes of Ms. Marshall not to have a service or memorial, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Tammany Health System Women's Pavilion where she worked as a volunteer, in the wig center, until she herself was diagnosed with….breast cancer in 2006.
