He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Salzer and Mabel Salzer (Debat); and his siblings, Alfred Salzer and Doris Morcotte. He is survived by: his wife Iris Libby Salzer; his children, Kenneth Salzer (Shelly), Deryl Wicks (Micheal), Kathryn Copley (Greg), Carol Coyne (Jimmy) and Mary Cardon (Bill); his stepchildren, Donna Kilpatrick, Perry Bennett and Patti McEntire (Len); his grandchildren, Jason, Jenny, Daniel, Jade, Megan, Josh, Sean, Ben and Mathew; and his stepgrandchildren, Gina, Lenora, Zachary, Stephanie, Stephen and Zack. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren along with multiple nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Tammany Hospice or St. Jude Hospital.
