Though Gaines may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gaines touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Newton and Marcelle Newton; and his wife Cheryl Hornak. He is survived by: his siblings, Ron Newton (Melanie) of Flower Mound, Texas, Susan Ethredge (David) of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Chuck Newton (Emily) of Brandon, Mississippi.; and his stepchildren, John Hornak of Bossier City, Louisiana, Theresa Sherrell (Keith) of Blanchard, Louisiana and Robert Hornak (Aubrey) of Robinson, Texas.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a step-grandchild, and two step-great grandchildren.
