He is survived by : his children, Joseph Cryer Strother III (Karen), Steven Strother (Kim), Jessica Thiels (Brett), Angela Garon and Brittany Deere (Joshua); his grandchildren, Preston Hebron, Ashton Lindsey, Madeline Strother, Gracelyn Strother, Thomas Thiels, Alyssa Garon, Trevor Garon, Tyler Garon, Trenton Garon, Abigail Garon, Ethan Deere, Caden Deere, Annalee Deere and Mary Deere; his great grandchild Colson Garon; and his sisters, Shirley Peterson and Mona Rhame.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville (2701 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA 71360). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
