She was predeceased by: her parents, Colonel Marcus Edward Cooper and Mary Eugenia Gill Cooper; her husband James Egan Marsalis, Jr.; her brother Marcus Edward Cooper, Jr.; her sister-in-law Minette Goff Cooper; and her nephew Marcus Edward Cooper, III.
She is survived by: her children, Meagan Ardis Marsalis Stephenson (Clint) and Mitchell Brandon Marsalis (Beth); her grandchildren, Emma-Claire Stephenson, Alan-Michael Stephenson, Anna-Grace Stephenson, James Maddox Marsalis and Avery Mitchell Marsalis; her siblings, Anne Brandon Cooper Dyer (Ross) and Thomas Rowland Cooper (Marcy); her brothers-in-law, Dennis Joe Marsalis (Donna) and Lovic Ardis Marsalis (Karen); her niece Carolyn Minette Cooper Goodwin (Chris); her niece-in-law April Parker Cooper; and her nephews, Ross Dyer, Jr. (Ursula), Cary Ray Cooper (Katie), Justin Marsalis (Kelsey), Blake Marsalis and Cole Marsalis. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Athens, Athens Community Church or Salem Cemetery Association.
