She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman and Leona Dubois Varmall, Sr.; her son Kevin Johann Poland; and her brothers, Charles, Sr., Herbert, Herman, John Sr., Paul Varmall Sr., Larry and Curtis Varmall, Sr..

She is survived by: her husband Richard Lee Poland, Jr.; and her granddaughters, Jalon and Ashley Poland. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
