It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joycelyn Smith (Baker, Louisiana), born in Opelousas, Louisiana, who passed away on July 6, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Hidalgo and Amy Boudreaux Hidalgo; and her brother Harvey Hidalgo. She is survived by: her husband Reggie J. Smith; her son Richard "Rick" Smith (Shelly); her grandsons, Derrick Smith and Logan Smith; her stepgranddaughter Kaitlyn Galloway; and her siblings, Nelson Hidalgo (Mary Jane), Clayton Hidalgo (Margaret), Elridge Hidalgo, Ned Hidalgo (Melanie), Charlene Prejean, Mary Ann Roberts, Ellen Young, Millie Stelly, Gloria Hidalgo and Anna Israel (Kerry). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
