With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alice Wilhelmina Ellis Sanders (Bastrop, Louisiana), born in Lake Providence, Louisiana, who passed away on August 29, 2019 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Violet Wilhelmina Franklin; her siblings, Joe Ellis and Martha Jane McLean; and her grandsons, Samuel Paul Sanders and Richard Allen Wolfe.
She is survived by: her brother George Vick Ellis; her children, Samuel Robert Sanders III (Mary Lynn) of Bastrop and Ann Wolfe (Jerry) of Bastrop; her grandchildren, Gina Downs (Ross), Amy Hoover (Roger), Holly Gay (David), Samuel Robert "Robby" Sanders, IV (Janie), Wendy Langley (Lester), Sarah Pepper (Barrett), Linda Honaker (Don), Jimmy Wolfe (Rhena) and Beverly Johnson (Jimmy); and her great grandchildren, Earl Ross Downs, III, Evan Downs, Ross Evrett Downs, Peyton Hoover, Mason Hoover, Carter Hoover, Logan Travis and Layton Wheeler. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Gideons International or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bastrop, Louisiana.
