He was predeceased by: his wife Bea King; his stepfather Leonard M. Farrar; his mother Bessie Mae Farrar; his brothers, Billy King and Randy Farrar; and also Starlett Ann King.

He is survived by: his children, Tammy Sebren (Mike) and Chris King (Julie); his siblings, Brenda Hicks (David), Purvis King (Barbara), Leonard Farrar (Mickey) and Thomas Farrar (Sharon); and his daughter Barbara Burchell. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
