He is survived by: his children, Kay Whitaker Lamberton (Michael), Kelly Gray Whitaker (Karen Graichen-Whitaker) and Charles Kenneth Whitaker (Lois); his sister Catherine Olivia Whitaker McCorquodale; his grandchildren, Natalie Ruth Lamberton, Lauren Nicole Whitaker, Chelsea Marie Austin Jackson, Megan Marie Keffer, Matthew Lamar Miller, Charles Greye Whitaker and Hannah Ruth Whitaker Braden; his great grandchildren, Jordyn Whitaker, Elyanna Keffer, Brock Jackson, Eloise Jackson, Quinn Jackson, Kamille Maerie Miller, Gavin Lamar Miller, Sophia Grace Thompson-Whitaker, Hayden Alexander Stephens and Madelyn Harlow Braden; and his cousins, Nell Gardner and Brenda Gardner.
