He was predeceased by: his parents, C. H. Ruffin and Hazel Dean. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Wise Ruffin; his daughter Amber Ruffin Welch (Jeff) of White Hall, AR; his grandchildren, Jordan Lee Bigger (Jake) of Jonesboro, AR and Jase Elizabeth Welch of White Hall, AR; his siblings-in-law, Susan and Mike Barringer of Monroe, LA; his niece Brooke Burgard (Brian) of Summerville, SC; his great-nieces, Annabelle and Ashleigh; his nephew Josh Barringer of Vancouver, Canada; and his half-brother Reggie Ruffin of Arkansas.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
