He was predeceased by: his wife Sylvia A. Taylor McDonald; and his parents, Asa Hawthorne and Annie Laura Robertson McDonald. He is survived by: his children, Robbie Niegowski (Denis) of South Carolina, James E. McDonald (Helen) of South Carolina and Bruce McDonald (Barbara) of Georgia. He is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
