He was predeceased by: his former wife Jean Culp Goodnight; his daughter Belinda Gaye Goodnight; and his sisters, Joy Cockrell, Bettye Greenwall (John) and Patricia Desmond (Jerry).

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Beau, Lindsay Becton, Casey, Ross, Millena Wilson and McClendon Williams; and his great grandchildren, Adalyn, Steele, Shepard, Brave, Solomon, Arrow and Durban. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
