Alicia Carr Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 18, 2018 we had to say goodbye to Alicia Carr (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), born in Bunkie, Louisiana. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

And where there is sadness, your joy." The Prayer of St. Francis, one of Lee's most favorite and passionate prayers. Lee, as she was affectionately known, passed away peacefully at her residence in Baton Rouge, LA on March 18, 2018, at the age of 76. Lee was born in Bunkie, LA and was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. Lee was preceded in death by her father, Herbert H. Ducote, Jr.; mother, Catherine Ducote Eiland; and her brother, Herbert H. Ducote III. Lee was very happily married to her High School sweetheart, Robert "Bob" M. Carr, for 58 ½ years. Lee graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1959. Nothing was more important than her family. Lee's entire family was the Sun, Moon, and Stars to her with the Sun always shining the brightest every time whether she saw one of them separately or together at family gatherings. Lee's favored pastime was reading, watching the news and Wheel of Fortune. Lee always enjoyed her trips with Mary Ann and Bobbie to Forrest Hill to get new plants and spend the day out. In addition to her husband, Lee is survived by her daughter, Laura "Liz" Meador-Rayburn and son-in-law Johnny; and her son, James "Randy" Carr. She is also survived by 3 grandsons: Jordan Meador (Megan), Zachary Meador (Chandler), and Dylan Rayburn; a granddaughter, Amber Nicole Sonier (Josh); 5 great-granddaughters; and 3 great-grandsons. Lee retired from Hibernia National Bank (formerly Fidelity National Bank), Mortgage Loans Dept., as an Administrative Vice President, and later retired from JCN Financial Group. Lee was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 9:00 am until funeral service at 1:00 pm. Reverend Ken Carroll will officiate. At Lee's request, private burial will follow cremation at a later date. Serving as Pallbearers will be Randy Carr, Johnny Rayburn, Jordan Meador, Zachary Meador, Dylan Rayburn, and Josh Sonier, with John "Frank" Sommers and John P. Coe serving as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lee's memory to Broadmoor United Methodist Church Children's Learning Center.
