She was predeceased by: her parents, Fae McNabb Breeland and Charles Mixon, Sr.; her husband John Melder; her daughter Amanda Marie Mixon; and her siblings, Lila Mixon and Elvis Lee Mixon.
She is survived by: her son Brian Melder; her siblings, Charles Mixon, Jr., Barbara Clinton and Charlene Swanner; her stepchildren, Jessica, J. B. Liles, Brandt and Stephanie Melder; her grandchildren, Josh, Camron Roberts, Landon Melder and Emma Liles; and her siblings' children, Tawannah Mixon, Shannon Spohn, Cecelia Sistrunk, Adam Stewart, Jr., Brian Rhedd, Danial Mixon, Skyler, Dorien Alford and J. T. Sistrunk.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
