He is survived by: his wife Alice Bennett; his children, Jason Lamar Bennett, Darlene Gurka, Susan Smith (Flint) and Larry Norman (Susan); his sister Voncile Smith; and his grandchildren, Josh Norman (Amber), Jamen Smiley (Jamie), Joseph Bennett Jr., Louis Gurka, Laura Babin (David), Brandy Smith, Brittany Smith, Brianna Smith and Brooke Smith. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
