With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Compton of Benton, Louisiana, born in Magnolia, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 29, 2025 at the age of 63. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Young and Ruth Compton (Dennis Davis). He is survived by: his wife Diana Compton; his children, Jimmy Compton, Jinny Weir (Tony), Christina Gregory (Shane), James Compton (Kimberly) and Shayne Compton (Alli); his grandchildren, Haley Compton (Joshua), Emily Reese, Kaydence Gregory, Alena Gregory, Kyleigh Compton, Brooklyn Compton, AJ McKibben and EJ McKibben; his siblings, Rickie Compton, Paul Compton, Charlie Compton (Tonnie) and Philip Lemay (Melissa); and his siblings' children, Angela McKenzie and Michael Orlando.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jamie's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
